Josef Lazarus &
Candice Stephanou

are the owners of Lazanou Organic Vineyards. Josef has had an interest in farming since childhood and has now realised this dream. Josef is a Philosophy graduate from the University of Cape Town and has worked in higher education and community development for the past 20 years. Candice is a qualified interior designer and currently spends her time making cheese, tending to the vegetable garden, ducks and chickens, and raising little Noah (6 years) and Hannah (4 years).
 
Tony Esterhuizen
has worked on the farm since 2000 and has been the Foreman at Lazanou Organic Vineyards since 2002. Tony grew up on farms in the Wellington district and has extensive experience of vineyard management within the region. Tony lives on the farm with his wife Lisa and their daughter Tenechia (7 years).
 
 
Johan Wiese
is our viticultural advisor. Johan has an honours degree in Science from the University of Stellenbosch, majoring in Viticulture and Oenology. He started his viticulture consulting business after 10 years as viticultural advisor at KWV. He takes pride in seeing quality wine emerge from viticultural decisions and believes that experience and ‘gut-feel’ must blend with scientific information for optimum results.
 
 
Corlea Fourie
is our winemaker. Corlea has been a boutique wine producer for several years. She is a hands-on winemaker and gives each wine special and unique attention. In 2008 Corlea was a finalist in the South African Woman Wine Maker of the year competition. Corlea is a Science graduate from the University of Stellenbosch, with Viticulture and Oenology as majors.
 
 

Rebecca Lazarus
assists with sales at the Neighbourgoods Market in the Old Biscuit Mill building in Salt River, Cape Town on Saturdays and at special promotions. Rebecca is a qualified fitness instructor, pilates instructor, and emergency medical practitioner. She is currently studying Social Work at the University of the Western Cape.
